Cancer Survivor

This was amazing project with South lake regional hospital. We had a chance to document double survivor of cancer and going through it with his family and South Lake Regional hospital. We took approach through some lighting techniques that are widely used in the industry how ever there was always a challenge. We used an Arri M40 as our key source for the window. How ever it was difficult to get the proper height for the top down effect of the sun. the reason for that difficulty is because we did not have enough height. We resourced to using two mirror boards and having the light bounce in the right direction. for the second kick of the light we had Arri m18 as our wall filler. the windows were stepped down with Lee Nd rolls of filter. This allowed us to have details in the outside and have softer light on the subject even when they were direct with the light. for interiors we used light mat 4 and Aputure 300, 600 and 1200. This was limited and was only used on some set ups. On one of the set ups we used a muslin to wrap around a table and giver nice warm key with only using one source of light from one direction. The idea was to give a nice crisp and warm tones to the image and have much more home like feel but at the same time mix it with dark tones to push idea of context being serious. the team has done amazing job with set ups and as Gaffer and key on this project I was happy with results and hope to share the final projects soon.
