Hayabusa
This was amazing experience to catch the last few days of the Hayabusa promotional content video made by talented DP Danny Lau. there was several interesting set ups and two different days of shooting the content for various clips that became a large promo and some smaller content for social media. My job on both of the projects was be the key grip and Gaffer for selected locations and days. Some of the challenges we had is to rig up allot of the lighting fixtures above the gym floor. We could not bring any sky jacks and ended up hooking few Aputure 600s above. Our other go to lighting was aster ax1 tubes that give just enough kick on the ground and the athletes. I also like the idea of using them as regular drop down fixture. Reason behind that is that they can be hidden and controlled via app with out any real adjustments. we used over six tubes to run as practical’s. I ended up masking a pattern in some areas when there is someone in the shoot and they approach the camera or move around it will make them go in and out of light creating some harder top down shadows. nature of the shoot dose not call for flat lighting and results were all high to mid contrasts on key lights and some darkening out for harder shadows. For car scene we used freedom mount car rig. this was perfect to do over above look for the main character when she was sitting in the vehicle. Over all amazing team and awesome work from everyone involved in this particular projects for Hayabusa brand.
