Mint Room Challenge IV at Preto Loft
On December 17th, 2019, five photographers entered another one of our Mint Room Challenges. The photography challenge was a bit different this year, instead of hosting it in our home base at Mint we moved the party just a couple streets over to our second home/ newly released studio- Preto Loft. Known as our sister studio, Preto Loft. The quick challenge for us was to set up various interviews in a space where only half of availability of entire space was accessible. How ever as DP Artur Z, shooting the B-role and the challenges it self we managed to come up with solution of having each interview to look different but with a flow. For such application we used aputure 300d as our key soft source on the subject. In some cases window light was a very strong source to fill background and the interviewer. How ever if you carefully notice there was some practical placements in the frame to show and provide warmer tones to the space and not to have entire video in cooler/colder. For hair-light and diffusion there was Qusar available on 40’ extension, we controlled some of the light by using larger dome and regular 50’ collapsible disks. The reason why we did not eliminate all the light in the frame is because of overcast day in the studio resulting in constant brighter or darker lighting which was enough for background to be lit and some details to be seen. Over all special thank you to everyone who was part of this amazing experience.
