Monaco Medical Aesthetics Video

When I was contacted for another interview type video, with some on location footage I was really happy to make this project happen. With Artur Z. as DP on this shoot and August media producing this video we had a solid vision on how we want to make the interviews and the multiple videos for the company. Mint Room Studios had an amazing space that was available for full day. The project was divided in to three days. First day was on location at Monaco Medical Spa where we used several setups to reenact the procedures some of the clients were getting. We also wanted to show the space and how well its made to bring comfort to clients visit. Some offices were much more specious then others. We had a fold able butterfly frame with Aputure 300d as our main source. This way in some offices we were able to have a very soft key light that looked natural. The window lighting was not available that day so we tried our best to get as much of available light to fill the rest of the rooms space. In smaller spaces we used Qusar lighting tubes with some magic arms with simple large reflector to soften and mimic the top down lighting from the panels that were available above. This also has given us a selective area of light spill above and less light around the contours of the room, isolating the subject we are filming. We used Dana dolly for push in or sliding takes to have some motion to the takes and also some still made takes for the close ups.

For the Mint Room Studio space we had an idea of how we want the interview to look. In this case the room is white and entire area was good to give off a much airy look to the subject. The decision was made to have MSE crank riser stands, across we have 12 foot span to give a winder field of view and be able to capture some of the background. We dropped an 8x8 with full diffusion, noted we used the lighter westcott frame to save on weight this also was an easy frame to use if needed adjustment for shifting. The two light sources had a 1/2 diffusion directed at the subject and space around creating this nice soft spot above the subject. We used the v-flats to bounce any available light source and also to block the lighting that was not needed. To give some negative source and have little separation on subjects face and body we made sure to use sound blankets on left side to take in that lighting and also eliminate any echo in the space.

Overall this was amazing experience and I was very happy with results we achieved.
